went to a screening of Racing Stripes (rough cut print) yesterday, excellent film, but along with everyone else we were all bodysearched for cameras, recording devices etc. Is this going to be the new way to go to the movies.Plus it looks like down here us exhibitors have the rights to remove cameras/phones that take pics all in the name of piracy.

Been doing that up here at screenings for some time now.
Wait til you have security standing in the auditorium with night vision goggles on watching you.

Just gfot back from Showeast and they had their own security team there the whole time. Had to leave cameras / camera phones / recording devices at the door and then they came into the theatre with night vision goggles.

Dave:
How was Showeast? What films did you like? I'm especially interested in Beyond the Sea because I think it looks really good and it's probably one I won't be able to play on break. Going back to upcoming films topic, what did you think of National Treasure?

I liked National Treasure. It used the same formula as Pirates and kept you interested. Beyond the Sea was OK. I don't know if would draw crowds for me though.

Polar Express was much better than I thought, I have not been impressed by the previews. I guess the techology used was impressive but I don't see people coming back time and time again with other friends like Grinch brought them in.

I have not seen the first Bridget Jones movie but I will now. The new Bridget Jones is very funny.

I was a little dissapointed in After the Sunset. I am not sure why, it was good, but did not leave me with that same feeling as National Treasure or Polar.

House of Flying Daggers was very interesting for a subtitled film. Action and photography were amazing. I was very surprised at the several plot twists too. Not sure that is would play at a smaller theatre like ours but I was glad I saw it.

It was my first trip to Showeast and I was very impressed with the size of the trade show. We got a lot done at the trade show. Took care of ordering our holiday supply of candy and other needed items. I am still looking at preshow digital projectors so if anyone can recomend some email to me.
