When Pixar's contract runs out with Disney, which film company would you like to see acquire their services and which one do you think will get it? State your case Smile

I think at this point they will probably go on a project by project basis as to which studio they will use to distribute their films. They may even opt to distribute the films themselves, although I don't consider this a likely option with all this costs involved and they have a very limited product (CG Animation).

I am not sure how all this works but it seems finding one studio to distribute is easier than taking bids each time. Eventually, film companies will tire of this - especially if Pixar produces their first dud and as the competition gets better. I think finding a guaranteed contract is more likely.

I think Buena Vista will end up with them again but at a cost. Dreamworks(Shrek)and Fox(Ice Age) seem to have decent animated studios at this point but could always buy the competition. Warner Bros may make a run at them to compliment the Polar Express style. Sony produces few family films and just acquired MGM (for it's catalogue). Paramount, New Line and Miramax seem unlikely to even try. That leaves Universal - which could benefit not only from the revenue the films generate but the rides and attractions that spin off from Pixar movies at their theme parks.

Im my opinion, whatever happens with Pixar will have big impact on the immediate future of this industry.
