Showtimes posting incorrectly on Google and Mr Movie Times (anyone else?)

Yesterday we had several customers come in and report that our "times were wrong on the web". I checked our website and RTN, which were both correct. More questions for the next customer with a problem and found out it was posted on the 2 sites mentioned above... (They had printed the times to share with us, since it happened the day before to them, also)

Looks like they (Google/MrMovieTimes) posted our data from Friday for every day of the week. (Those times are what are showing for today (wrong times), and are different from every other day of the week). Our show times change most days of the week, so it is an issue for us.

My question- did anyone else experience show times being posted incorrectly? I am guessing that it was an issue with RTN, which I discovered today is owned by Rob Chabot, the head of RTS after some research.

I can be reached at reelmountain@gmail.com

Thanks!

I am not sure how or to whom RTN sends your times. I email them directly to a couple of places and they appear on all of those sites. I have seen a few mistakes but nothing major. I assume someone enters the times manually and a script on those websites links to them. It is human error so contact one of those sites (or RTS) and find out which service they use. You may be able to contact them and point out the mistakes and express how inconvenient it is when they are posted incorrectly.

schedules@cinema-source.com - this is the one that gets my times posted on the major sites

Mark,

RTS doesn't provide the show times to any websites. Your schedule is transmitted directly from the theatre to RTN, and from there the purchase pages and XML feed are produced.

Some locations are pulling the XML Feed to produce schedules on the theatre websites.

Usually Cinema-Source provides the schedules for many websites.

Best option is to find out where the sites you listed get their schedules.

Thanks. I did check with the sites in question and they (said they were going to) follow up with their sources...

It happened only once, so I'm thinking it was a single event of data being transmitted incorrectly.

I have this happen frequently.
I've tried to train our customers to only look at our website because of this.

And like Jason, I email them to a couple of places each week.

This happened to me this weekend and caused a customer to become quite irate at us. I am going to post and hand out flyers disclaiming any responsibilty for unofficial sites and promote our official web site. I may stop sending those sites our times. A customer should call or visit our site if they can't see them on the others, right?

They will dig them up anyway, you might as well attempt to send them the correct ones.

Last I knew, you really only needed to send them to Tribune Media Services.

They must make this stuff up. They are showing me having a midnight show tonight of Harry Potter but I am not having one. I hope people do not see that or they are going to be very angry but not at the guilty party!
