We currently use a foam cup. I am told the price may go up significantly due to the increase in oil prices. I am told the reason we use foam cups instead of paper is that in the past we have had a problem with the paper cup leaking if left sit for a day. i.e. over night or if it gets missed by the janitor for 24 hours or more in a some inconspicuous place.
What are you using for cups? (Foam or paper) Has paper been a problem for anyone if left in the cup holders overnight? Thanks for the input here! |

I used to use foam cups but have switched to paper and plastic from PMG. I wanted something that looked better than the generic foam Coke cup. Paper and plastic cups sweat more than foam but I was also having trouble with people (women mostly) sticking finger(nails) through the foam cups.
I also switched to paper tubs over popcorn bags. To me it looks better and I have never had one to leak. |

We use a verizon cup and have had some fingers go though but not many. Our large 32oz cup is a custom plastic car cup with our logo and Pepsi on it, so these have no issues.
Tubs are way too much trouble and cost too much to dispose of. Try bags from Packaging concepts in St. Louis. They have leak proof technology that is guaranteed. They are the largest paper bag manufacturer and will be glad to get you off of PMG. http://www.packagingconceptsinc.com/index.htm Call Aaron Bartoni, their theatre rep., at 314-481-1155 and tell him I sent you. If you do not want to buy direct then I am sure Aaron can tell you how handles their products by you. Not trying to be an ad here but I have been to the plant and meet the owners and they just have a great operation. Also we have been using their products for years with no problems. |

I use paper drink cups as well.
Looks and less crushing of the cups. Popcorn cups all the way. Bags are a PITA. Bags take too much time to serve during a transaction vs cups. Not counting the higher mess factor bags cause behind the stand. |

Amen, Looney. It is a pain to open those bags when you are busy and is not very sanitary in my opinion sticking your dirty hands in the bag. People feel as if they are getitng more with the tubs also.
I use paper and plastic cups and although the plastic and the tubs do fill the trashcan a bit faster, I feel if the time comes that I can't afford trashbags then it is time for me to close. To each his/her own though. |

So I take it paper cups have improved in the last 30 years that my father in-law has refused to use them. Good to hear.
Jason, I agree don't put your hand in the bags, gross. First thing we tell employees is do not put your hand in the bag. I can pop our's open in one motion. |
